Loved the look of this jacket but it was thinner material than expected. I was hoping for something a bit warmer.

I love the fabric, and the contrast zippers and tape. Great adjustability in hood and the waist has double draw cords. It is a good fit for me. I ordered large as I always do, but in this case a large might have been better. I am 6'0 tall, 210 lbs and ordered the XL for layering. Its a bit too big all around. A large would still have room for good layers and fit a bit better. It does great blocking wind, is moderatly waterproof without the wash in stuff yet. It is perfect around town, at work, and hiking. Perfect all around jacket, if it only had pit zips and inside pocket.

I had no idea this basically was a windbreaker. I do layer, but for a jacket this nice you would want something more substantial for the price. And, being basically a windbreaker, for that money I would expect some waterproofness.

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
