About Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer Q.Shield® Down Hooded Jacket - 800 Fill Power (For Women)
Closeouts. There's light, there's ultralight and then there's Ghost-Whisperer light -- the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer Q.Shield® Down jacket tips the scales at a feathery 8 oz. It utilizes a combination of cutting-edge Ghost Whisperer seven-denier ripstop nylon and moisture-resistant, loft-retaining Q.Shield® 800 fill power down to deliver an untouchable warmth-to-weight ratio.
- Ghost Whisperer fabric is an ultralight, super-tightly woven mini-ripstop nylon that is windproof, water repellent and virtually downproof
- Mountain Hardwear developed Ghost Whisperer fabric in collaboration with speed alpinist Ueli Steck, and there is only one mill in the world equipped to weave it
- Ultra-compressible Q.Shield® Down infuses individual down fibers with permanent water repellency that helps maintain insulating performance, even when wet
- Quilted construction prevents down migration and cold spots
- Feminine shaping is both flattering and functional; it makes this jacket fit great under shells and look great when worn alone
- Attached, insulated, low-profile hood adds extra warmth and coverage
- Full-zip front
- Zip hand pockets
- Drawcord hem locks warmth in or allows venting, depending on conditions
- Stows in own pocket

5.0 out of 5 stars. Awesome coatVerified Buyer Reviewed by COwoman from Colorado on Wednesday, October 24, 2018I love this jacket. Fits me perfectly. Warm, lightweight and I love the hood. I wear it all the time. My only complaint is that I’m accident prone and tend to snag the jacket (branches etc). It rips easily if it catches on something. I’ve used clear tough tape to mend it. Love it otherwise.

4.0 out of 5 stars. zipper isn't the correct sizeReviewed by Gloria from Seattle on Tuesday, December 12, 2017I order this and exchanged it because the zipper doesn't unlatch easily. I exchanged it for another one and the replacement has the same problem. When I unzip it, I have to fuss with it for it to come apart. Does anyone else have this problem? I've owned 4 Patagonia down jackets and one North Face. None of them do this. I compared the zipper size to my other brand jackets and it appears that the Mountain Hardware zipper is half the size. Like it's meant for a children's size. So if you're okay with a not-so-smooth zipper then this would be a good jacket. Also, I wear a XS in Patagonia and North Face. The Mountain Hardware runs just a tad bit smaller.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love this jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Massachusetts on Thursday, November 2, 2017I was hesitant to purchase this jacket after reading the reviews about the arms not being wide enough. I am normally a medium, so I bought a large and am very happy with it!

2.0 out of 5 stars. Feathers made it look dirtyVerified Buyer Reviewed by Sw from Colorado on Wednesday, October 18, 2017Wanted to love this jacket; but the feathers in the yellow were dark and it made the jacket look like it had dirt spots. It was a nice thin jacket for the fill power... just not for me.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Warm but the fit is badReviewed by Leti from Atlanta on Thursday, June 8, 2017I love how warm this jacket is, I had to immediately take it off, since I was trying it in the spring. Super super light, and very warm, color was alright, BUT, like many people said in their reviews, beware the arm hole! I ignored everyone, thinking, I am petite, I am 5'2", my bust is 34B (or less), I weight about 108-110, so I ordered a small, since I have broad shoulders. No good. My armpits felt constrained, I could feel the jacket touching and I had 1 layer underneath, and I didnt even want to try it out on a hike or a backpacking trip. I had to return.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Lightweight, well constructedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Minnesota Nice from MN on Thursday, June 1, 2017I don't think the utility of a microdown jacket can be overstated. This is a great jacket, and the sizing is as expected (purchased as a gift). My only complaint is that the photo from STP of the maroon colored jacket did not appear shiny. In looking at other colors of the same jacket direct from Mountain Hardwear, they all appeared shiny, so that helped me not be too surprised when it arrived with sheen. Overall, a great product!

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket, minor fit issuesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Wisconsin on Thursday, April 27, 2017Used this jacket in a Large on a PCT thruhike last year and love it, ordered a Medium for a better fit in the body, the downside being that the armholes are smaller which creates tightness across the back of the shoulders when you stretch your arms across your body. Super light and plenty warm, packed down into its pocket I used it for a pillow sometimes. The hood is a great shape that actually stays on your head. And obviously the colors are a bit wild, but who cares out in the woods.

5.0 out of 5 stars. LOVE the light green color!!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Bunny_who_skis from Golden, CO on Wednesday, April 19, 2017I'm a HUGE fan of the ghost-whisper jackets. I have been waiting for this color to go on sale and now it has. Everyone comments on how cool the color is. Thanks Mountain Hardware for making another great color!
