Tough ParkaVerified Buyer Reviewed by JM from Richmond on Saturday, January 6, 2018This parka is quite warm down to around 20 degrees with just a sweatshirt and to 5 degrees with an added fleece. The shell is tougher than most other products and windproof. I have not had it out in the rain or snow so I cannot speak to whether or not it is waterproof. The down fill with the heavier shell is combined appropriately, is not overly heavy, and is comfortable to wear. It seems to be cut a little bit large and the sleeves are long.
WARMVerified Buyer Reviewed by Beth from Tabernash, CO on Thursday, December 28, 2017Have not taken this jacket out on the ski hill yet, but it is often below zero or in the low teens where we live and it's a keeper for being out in the elements.
Well built parkaVerified Buyer Reviewed by Dan from Spokane WA on Monday, December 18, 2017As expected from Mountain Hardware - as well built parka. The hood is very adjustable which easily accommodates the extremes of a helmet or bare head. Warm and secure.
Cold winter perfectVerified Buyer Reviewed by Rcs100 from Minnesota on Wednesday, December 13, 2017And features as advertised. Cut somewhat large.
Well made, very warm!Verified Buyer Reviewed by jiber from New England on Wednesday, December 6, 2017We had to return the initial order due to the fact STP, had the wrong color picture up of the jacket versus what was received, however the return and reshipment of another color was flawless. STP, shipped out the new jacket the same day as our call, and we dropped off the return at Staples for the UPS return, no charge to us.
The jacket is well made, excellent for winter hikes and walks and will do well in the cold temps here in N.E. It is light, does not feel too bulky I have a 5'10" frame, 148 lbs, and a medium is plenty big and leaves room should I need to layer when temps get below zero. If you are looking for warmth, look no further.
Warm & ToughVerified Buyer Reviewed by Orion72 from South Sound, WA on Wednesday, November 22, 2017Purchased to cover a variety of sub-freezing activities - everything from shoveling snow, to sitting idle at football games, to climbing and playing in the mountains. I was looking for something warm and tough and this piece fits the bill. For me, key features include plenty of hydrophobic down stuffing without being ridiculously puffy, a rugged exterior (this is much more cut/abrasion resistant than many of the lightweight down jackets available), adjustable hood & cuffs, and lots of functional pockets. Fit is what I expected - I'm 5'8"/145lb/38" chest and the size small allows for a couple layers and gives me full butt coverage. If your main concern is light weight and packability, this might not be the coat for you. STP pricing is fantastic on this parka. Also included a stuff sack.
