Verified Buyer Reviewed by Portland mama from Portland, OR on Wednesday, April 15, 2015We looked at a lot of sleeping bags before purchasing this one. The material appears high quality and the compression bag makes the bag super portable. Have not tested out how it does in the elements because we just purchased it. Seems like it will fit toddler through grade school if your child is average sized.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Paul from Wisconsin on Tuesday, March 31, 2015Well made kids bag. The adjustable feature is pretty neat. The drawstrings are on the outside of the bag under a flap on the foot. Only real complaint is the zipper comes undone easily and can be difficult to get started again. This could prove to be an annoyance if it happens in the middle of the night. We'll see how it goes after a couple nights of needing to pee at 3 am.

Reviewed by David from Denver, CO on Tuesday, April 9, 2013I bought a North Face Tigger for my oldest a few years ago, and have another who is now old enough to hit the hills. I would have bought another Tigger, but North Face apparently doesn't make it anymore. The Mountain Hardware Goat looks about the same on paper.
I like to backpack and take the kids with me, so the bag needs to be as lightweight as possible, compact, affordable, and comfortable for the kids. I can't rate its comfort, but Mountain Hardware is a reputable brand and I'm sure it's fine. Compared to other synthetic bags for kids, the Goat is relatively lightweight, compact, and affordable. Synthetic is nice because it will keep them warm even if its wet. The synthetic is also a con, though, because it isn't nearly as compact as down. Even a relatively inexpensive 650 fill down bag would be more compact, but it would be less affordable than the Goat and wouldn't keep them warm when wet. For our purposes, synthetic wins but it's not perfect.
After receiving the bag and comparing it with the North Face Tigger, the only noticeable difference is that the Goat is much easier to fit in to its stuff sack, which is about the same size as the Tigger's. This also comes in purple as opposed to the Tigger's gender-neutral red or green. This is a major pro to my audience. I'm glad that I bought this instead of a Tigger.
In all, this is a great kids bag that can handle car camping and backpacking alike. The synthetic will be more forgiving than down, but isn't as compact or lightweight.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by eagle scout from middle ga on Friday, February 15, 2013the size and cut are great. the zipper needs to be a little more kid friendly, jams sometimes, and a little tricky for young kids to zip while in the bag. overall great bag. would buy again.
