5.0 out of 5 stars. Heavy duty MH waterproof gloves

Probably one of the most durable and weather proof gloves I've owned. They fit well and offer enough flexibility in the fingers for any winter activities. Highly recommended.

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Good...But Highly Disappointed
Reviewed by Steve Feuerstein from Bronx, NY on Thursday, February 13, 2014
I think it important to state at the outset that I am a staunch fan of the Mountain Hardware line of products.

Unfortunately, I have been having a less than desirable time trying to find the right sub-20 degree weather pair. This was the case of the Zeus model that I purchased which were defective, or the Masherbrums that I presently own that are warm but overbearing, or now with the Medusa that I recently acquired which are quality made gloves, but surprisingly sport an absurd shortcoming.

If one has no intention of ever touching snow or coming into contact with ice or getting the palms or fingers of the glove wet, then these gloves are fantastic in 0 - 30 degree conditions. However, in the event that you plan to use them in a winter context, out in the backcountry hiking the winter trails or at home cleaning off your car after a major storm or playing with kids while sleigh-riding, whatever the case may be, the BOTTOM LINE is this: These above referenced sections of the gloves are made with leather, have a high absorption factor, and thus transmit the freezing cold to your skin on a rapid basis.

How they made it through quality control is beyond explanation.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Bomber, but not warm as I hoped

These are certainly dry and ergonomically designed, but do not have near the insulation I was hoping for Denali.
Looks like some super warm liners will retrofit the existing liners.

I DID NOT USE THESE FOR SKIING YET

Shipping was fast and easy. The quality of the gloves appear to be top notch. They fit perfectly and they're not too rigid. I wore them a few days for my morning drive to work just to try them out and they kept my hands very warm. A lot of reviews are saying that these gloves are too bulky and make it hard to use your finger but they're gloves. If you need gloves to wear while sewing these aren't the gloves for you. If you need gloves to wear while picking up change off the ground these gloves aren't for you. If you need gloves to wear while skiing these are perfect.

I'm hoping they hold up for my upcoming ski trip to CO. Unless they breakdown and tear I will stand by my 5-star rating.

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
