Bought this to wear here on the Pacific North Coast where is can get chilly most of the year. I wanted a fleece top that I could take on and off easily instead of pulling it over my head. The fit is nice (I'm 5'9" 125 lbs) in a medium and the green color is very nice. I like that the sleeves are lo... Read More

  • “Hi,|This jacket is described as "violet storm" yet it looks like a cornflower blue to me. How would you describe it?|Thank you.”
Asked by I want to be in my chilly house from NC on 10/4/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • The photo is a pretty true representation of the color, I would agree the color leans toward cornflower blue.

  • “Is this jacket meant to be worn as a top layer under a ski jacket? Also, is it a loose fitting layer or tight?”
Asked by Heidi from Boxford, Ma on 1/17/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • The Mountain Hardwear Microchill Jacket is designed to be an outer layering piece. It should have a semi-fitted feel. If your concerned about a really tight fit I would suggest ordering a size up! I hope this helps! Enjoy!

    • I think it would work well as a top layer under a ski jacket. I bought a medium, 5'8" and 160 lbs. The jacket is slim-fitting but comfortable.

    • This jacket might be a good layer under a ski jacket as it is very form-fitting.

    • I think these have changed since 2012, because the one I have is very tight. I wear xs in all athletic clothing, but the xs in this jacket probably would've fit me perfectly when I was 9 years exaggeration.
I can zip it up, but can't fit any layers underneath...the sleeves are particularly tight. I'd size up a couple sizes if you want it to be a jacket.

    • I totally agree with Stella. I got an XS (I'm 105lbs 32B), but the arms are too tight to fit a long sleeve shirt under. I'm returning for the next size.

  • “Is this product true to size? Does it run small? What do you think?”
Asked by Becky from Virginia on 1/8/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • The Mountain Hardwear Microchill Jacket is manufactured to have a Classic Fit. Classic fit clothing will be semi fitted and follow your figure. It will be a little tight

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
