  • Runs very, very small

I was really looking forward to these capris for hiking and traveling, but unfortunately I will have to return them. I usually wear a size 6-8 depending on the brand and in this case I ordered an 8 thinking I might want them a little loose. However, the fit is more like a 4 or less as I cannot even get the pants over my thighs. I'm returning these hoping I can find a size that works, but I hate having to guess what size will fit me, as it seems the sizes are not anywhere close to what one would expect.

The material felt good though and looked like it would have been exactly what I wanted - lightweight, sturdy, good for hiking and traveling - if the sizing was correct.

Great quality pants perfect for traveling.
However I have to return them because they run one size smaller than what I usually wear.
  • Good product, way too small!

Bummer because even though I ordered a size larger than I normally wear they were still too small. And now all they have left is a size 4 (which would fit a size zero). ??
  • runs waaaaay small!

Normally wear between a 2 and 4 in mountain hardware so I bought the 4 and not go.
My 12 year old niece is now enjoying them. based on the sizing, I think I would fit an 6-8 in these capris.
seems like usual mountain hardware material

This may be very good quality, but it doesn’t matter if they don’t fit. As suggested by other shoppers, I ordered this item a size larger than usual. However, the waist was still too small - the rest of the garment fit just fine. Sorry to send them back but no point keeping something that doesn’t fit, would never be comfortable.

  • “Why is the sizing so far off? Where were these manufactured? I am afraid to order due to all of the returns - especially if I'm taking the hit for the errors in sizing......It has turned me off of ordering from your company AT ALL!

Lucky me that these were the first reviews I read on your products.......”

    • I found these true to size.

    • I hade the same issue and the cost of the return prevented me from sending it back. The size is one whole size smaller than stated on the pants. After this ordeal, I am also very careful what I order from Sierra Trading Post. It would be great that they had a free return policy.

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability.
