Verified Buyer Reviewed by mrygal from Boston, MA on Friday, January 2, 2015Bought this as a gift for my brother and he absolutely loves it. Fits well. He was surprised at how warm and lightweight it was. Loves the feel of the fabric. Wore it in 20-30 degree weather and was warm with some light layers underneath.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by cheezyfrye from Cospgs, CO on Wednesday, June 11, 2014Needed a lighter jacket for all around usage that could handle fall and spring weather in CO, which can include lots of wind and surprise snow storms and then warm up quickly the next day. Having a hood was a definite plus. I wanted something nice enough looking that I could wear to work with casual dress clothes and with enough room that I could wear it over dress shirts & sweaters, etc. I was having trouble finding jackets with a good fit as I seemed to be right in between a small and medium. Smalls would be to tight around my hips and sleeves often too tight. My arms are short so sleeves on mediums were often too long.
Fortunately for me this jacket in a medium fit really well. Lining is smooth enough that I can slide a long sleeve dress shirt into the sleeves easily enough, which had just enough room. The sleeve openings were perfect and have an inner cuff which seals off around your wrist keeping in the warmth and out the wind. I much prefer that solution over adjustable cuffs that use a Velcro flap, which don't look as nice and often catch when I try to slide my hands into the pockets of a jacket. Of the softshells that I tried on this one was less stiff than most and with the inclusion of elastane panels across shoulders and arms it stretches in all the right places to provide a sleek fit but with full range of motion. Repeals rains great so far and cuts the wind pretty good, though not quite well as some of the windproof jackets that use polartech wind pro or Columbia's Omni-wind fabrics. Bought it too late to test in true winter weather like snow and below freezing temps but has kept me warm in late spring conditions and I expect it to be my go to jacket for all but the coldest days.
