Clasps Do Not Hold!

We have used backpacks for our dogs before and in preparation for a camping trip we purchased a pack for our small (but mighty) dog (Aussie/Brittany). The pack fits her well, has enough room for her items and seems to be durable. The bad part is the CLAPSP DO NOT HOLD. She slipped out of the pack today while hiking and I didn't even notice that it fell off - luckily my husband was behind us. I also tried using the pack as a harness, instead of her collar, and she broke free in a few seconds. I tried the backpack on my larger dog who is used to wearing packs (he likes them because it means a walk) and it fell off of him while he was just wearing it around the house.

I plan to reinforce the clasps so we can use it but dog owners beware - don't use this pack to secure your dog.
