Decent tent, vestibule weak.

We purchased this tent for our first camping trip with our two little girls (2 and 4). Both my husband and I have extensive camping experience, ranging from multi-day kayak trips in Washington to conducting high desert bird surveys in New Mexico, so we know our tents. I personally prefer a tent with a larger vestibule, having done a lot of rainy camping... it's just nice to be able to keep sand, water, and mud out of the tent as much as possible.

What I really like a about this tent is the solid construction considering how lightweight it is. The colors are nice (I was worried that the green would be horribly bright, it's more muted). It fits the four of us pretty comfortably, though we'd definitely outgrow it in a few years. It has a little gear canopy that attaches to the ceiling of the tent that I really like, I can hook my headlamp to it to act as a lantern. The canopy also has pockets, so I didn't worry about my readers or car keys falling down on us.

My only main concern about this tent is the fly. I've used this fly design before in a rainstorm and was absolutely miserable. Since we live in Northern CA and it doesn't rain for 6 months of the year I wasn't worried about a rainstorm, but the fly loosened up overnight with all the wind and was wet and stuck to the door of the tent by morning. I had to secure the door of the fly away from the tent several times because it continued to loosen. Overall, I would have preferred a larger vestibule with a separate pole, but I know that would have added weight to the tent.

If you need something lightweight, this is a great 4-person tent. If you're looking for comfort, it is a nice tent, but it would lose some of it's comfort in bad weather.
