The strap that goes around near the top is key. The modular hauler 4 lacks this strap and the entire unit flops around. Also has attachment points for a shoulder strap (that does not come with it) that the Modular 4 is lacking. Yes the extra cube is nice, but having your stuff restrained is nicer... Read More

Im disappointment the outside part is very floppy and dose not stay open on its own, I had to add card board to it

These cubes are the perfect size for packing and storing. A helmet and ski boots fit perfectly into a cube!

The only downside is that the carrier is open-topped. To use these with a car rack, I'd suggest a large duffel bag - they just happen to fit perfectly into a large duffel I have.

I plan on using this on short camping trips -- one color bag per person to keep clothes organized and easily accessible.

I've been looking at these for several years, while continuing to just toss stuff into the back of our Subaru. Finally, I spotted the great deal on STP for the Hauler 3 and ordered one. It's the almost perfect solution to the disorder in our car. A cube for car emergency stuff, a cube for ready to use picnic stuff, and a cube ... well, we'll think of something to put in it. In the meantime, we leave one cube out and use the empty space in the Hauler to stash all our reusable shopping bags. The Hauler 3 and cubes are just the right size for what we need and the back of our Forrester. The only minor gripe? ... the floppiness of the Hauler sides when there are no full cubes in it.
