The 4 colors help to find stuff quickly. I use red for emergency items(i.e. first aid, bear spray, life jackets etc.) yellow for less severe use items(i.e dog leash, gps, nav maps, climbing skins, etc.)Green for clothing. Blue for food.If
confronted by a bear or trying to treat a wound and "I know I put all that stuff somewhere in this 80lb. pack, please hold" something you find yourself saying, this might be for you.I use mine for film and photo gear as well.
