They do what they are supposed to do! I'm sure there are much better and wayyyyy more expensive trekking poles on the market but it you don't want to spend that much on your pair these are for you. They worked great on a two night backpacker in Oklahoma. My only complaint is that the grip get a little sweaty , and the wrist strap could be a little softer. Having said that I'm gonna buy another pair for the GF.
