Great poles for the price...if they work

The poles are great for the price, as long as you get a pair that the telescoping adjusts properly. I've now tried out two pairs of two models of MountainSmith trekking poles and have found them to be very inconsistent in the ease of height adjustment. I've had issues where I can't get the adjustment to close and others where I can't get it to open. I've got two poles that the black rings around the telescoping area have come completely detached and I still can't move the poles in or out. I haven't spent the money for a better trekking pole because I really don't use them all that much, but it might be less frustrating. One of the two sets of pole I just ordered is going back for a refund.
