Ignorance may or may not be bliss

This is my first set of trekking poles so I have no experience with them. These adjust easily and seem plenty sturdy but not overly heavy. The anti-shock mechanism takes quite a bit of weight to compress, but I don't know if that's good or bad or perhaps just right. The question in my mind is why these are so inexpensive compared to most other models I've seen.
