5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent Day Pack

This pack has a lot of space, some nice separate compartments, good water proofing in the main compartment, and easy to get to water bottles while wearing the pack. Overall the construction is very good, it should last a long time. It fits well, and with a typical load doesn't tilt away, so I don't think you need the optional extra shoulder straps unless you are going to put a lot of very heavy stuff in it.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great bag!

Took this bag out for a great mountain hike as soon as I got it. It was soooo nice to have my arms so free and my back was so much cooler than when i use my regular trail pack. Plenty of room for a great day hike, with good stability against back. The only thing I wish is that they offered an alternative type of single strap for women. Other than that a truly great pack that is now my go two for hiking!
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great bag for international travel

Had to replace my last Mountainsmith lumbar pack after 15years. This bag is a bit larger, but worked well for my needs. Took on trip to Mexico with lots of day trips. Pockets made the necessities easily accessible. We even got caught in the rain one day, and all stayed dry.
