I got these bras initially because I could not find a single bra in town that was comfortable, that washed up well, that lasted and that did not dig canyons into my shoulder muscles. I was sick of paying twenty and thirty dollars for bras that lasted 6 months (no matter how careful I was with laundering) max.

I went to a local sporting outfitter, and tried on several. These are fabulously well-made, and are proportioned nicely. I came home to look online as the outfitter charged full MSRP. The Maia is my favorite Moving Comfort bra. The first several that I purchased several years ago (I only got two because I wanted to evaluate fit, comfort and washability) are the same style as these ones now. In between, last year, they redesigned the bra and made it even better. With more comfortable straps and fewer seams to irritate sensitive skin. Now, this year, they have re-designed it again, back to the way it was. And it's not as good, but it's still my favorite bra BY FAR. the constant re-designing, is the ONLY reason I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

The things that I really appreciate are that it is cut generous enough at the top of the cups so that you can wear it with a low-cut shirt, in a layered look, and skip the cami altogether. I'm a little modest, and it's just perfect for that. I love the way that it washes up and retains its shape (I do not dry them in the dryer) - the elastic from the first ones that I got 3 1/2 years ago is still totally elastic, but it's got YEARS of life left. WAY better than most bras on the market today.

I do not wear them with the underwire, but it's simple to remove the wires - and then they are perfect. Just a small slit at the top of the wire wrap and the wire slides out - and the slit almost disappears like magic. No one would ever know it used to be an underwire.

Best of all, they come in colors that are totally easy to mix and match. Either totally under a shirt, or layered on top.
