This grill is made out of very sturdy materials, but is poorly manufactured. The legs were bent, there are a lot of sharp burs to watch out for, and nothing quite fits together well. I was able to make it work, but it's quite heavy and not really worth the money in my opinion. Based on the packaging, I would guess this is "new old stock" from the 1980s.

Had one one very similar back in the 80's. It was called Hibachi Jr. Very portable, great for beach or camping. Used it for the first time last night. Cooked a couple of steaks. Because first time you have to leave in chimney mode longer to burn off per instructions, the coal were not as hot as i would have liked. Cooked slower, but still came out ok. Holds 38 popular brand bricketts. Two 14oz steaks fill up the grilling area. Back in the day, I mostly grilled kabobs and wings. The only thing I wish were different would be a better system of lighting. Being able to fold up as chimney is brilliant. If they had only left enough room to put newspaper up in the bottom, instead of the tray. I do not like using lighter fluid. I was able to get it going without the fluid, but it takes 3 or 4 tries. Been wanting one of these for awhile. This one comes without the snuff pouch, which as I understand does not hold up very well anyway. Saved me a few bucks. Very satisfied with purchase. Fast delivery.
