The problem with these slippers is that the cloth welt (the strip that holds the top to the sole) wraps around under the edge of the sole. That means you are walking on a material that has no resistance to abrasion from the surface that you are walking on. My house has hardwood floors and after wearing these slippers 3 or 4 times (inside only) the welt was ripping apart and frayed. A pair or two of thick socks will keep your feet just as warm and will last far, far longer. If they had cost more I would be sending them back.
