Definitely worth the extra cost.

I'm a huge fan of Asolo's shoes and boots. They'd be a worthwhile investment at full price; STP's price makes these a must-buy if you're one of us whose feet just happen to be exactly what Asolo's got in mind.
  • Solid, stable, comfortable

I always look for Asolo because of the reliably consistent fit, regardless of the style of boot or shoe. They fit true to size and in my experience, never require a thicker sock. Foot movement is stable in the shoe, toe box is enough to keep things comfortable all day. The amazingly short break in time for these did surprise me for sure. Lacing the up is lightning fast, the stability around the heel is pretty obvious and welcome, the attention to the durable toe cap is going to keep these shoes on the trail, office, hills, fire roads, adventure walks for a very very long time. I'd get a dozen pair if I had that many feet.
  • More Asolo perfection

This is the fourth pair of Asolos, and by far the best made. I buy hiking shoes rather than running shoes because they are more substantially made and fit and wear much longer. Asolos fit my feet as if they were designed for my feet. These Nailix shoes are much better than any of my previous Asolos. I just love them. they are so well made.
  • Substantial Shoes

They feel more like low cut hiking boots than running shoes but they are very comfortable. They are especially effective on uneven terrain. My first impression is that they are worth the extra cost..

  • “Whats the temperature range recommended for these? Too much for a hotter climate?”
Asked by Reno from CA on 6/29/2018 4:05:13 PM
    • Temperature range is subjective for everyone. Considering that these hiking shoes are represented as Waterproof/Gore-Tex, it would follow that cooler to moderate ambient temperatures are best suited. While they are extremely comfortable with the usual Asolo high quality features built into them, I personally would consistently wear them up to 85F with a high quality wicking sock. If they will be trekking through hot, dry, dusty territory, (above 85F) there are more suitable shoes. For day hikes, nature walks, recreational biking, dry riverbed walks, navigating singletrack trails in moderate to cooler temps, they would be perfect.

    • Did not buy these for climbing. They are very well constructed and weigh more than some hiking shoes, but I think their wonderful fit and construction are paramouny. Lighteer shoes may breathe a little better, but would not be as well constructed and not be as good on your feet.

    • Sorry there is not a temperature rating due to the number of factors that affect how warm it may keep you.

  • “how do these shoes fit? true to size? run large/small? some size 9.5 still fit me, but I have been getting 10s for some shoes/boots.”
Asked by edr900 from bridgewater, nj on 4/1/2018 7:43:35 PM
    • According to our fit team this item is running true to size.

    • These Asolo Nailix shoes fit so absolutely perfect. True to size definitely. I'd definitely go with a slightly thinner sock or liner knowing there will be zero chance of any discomfort due to foot movement within the shoe. If you like a thicker sock, go with the half size up.
