Necky Kayaks began with Necky kayak designers' desire to improve upon traditional British kayak designs. In the 1970s, Necky introduced their first sea kayak that the average paddler could take out on the ocean. These first Necky sea kayaks adapted a high-volume whitewater kayak design, adding more length and width and a larger cockpit. By the 1980s, Necky had added composite touring kayaks and also introduced the first polymer Necky kayak. The 1990s saw Necky kayaks lead a revolution in whitewater kayaking, launched by Necky's introduction of a flat planing hull with very hard chines, which allowed for maximum responsiveness in extreme water. The heart and soul of a Necky kayak is its high-performance hull. Advanced composite-fiberglass Necky kayak hulls set the high-end standard in the kayak industry, and remarkably durable and affordable Necky polyethylene hulls are second to none in design, performance and material. Necky continues to advance the art of kayaking, and Necky's hand-shaped hulls and comfortable appointments provide the boats loved by hardcore and recreational paddlers alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Fast and Fun KayakVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Montrose, PA on Monday, May 21, 2018My wife rode in this kayak first and thought that it was a little "tippy". We swapped boats next time we went out and I found that it wasn't tippy for me at all. I am a taller guy, 6'4" and found it comfortable. I wish the cockpit was a little longer and the foot pedals went a little further out (as my knees are quite bent), but beyond that, this kayak is comfortable and angles nicely. I LOVE the fact that this kayak features a rudder system. It makes the kayak turn on a dime and keeps it tracking very straight. It is a great touring kayak!

4.0 out of 5 stars. Stability and VersatilityVerified Buyer Reviewed by Sports Person from St. Paul, MN on Monday, May 31, 2010Have been thinking awhile on getting a kayak for recreational use as I live by an inland lake. Finally made the purchase and am very satisfied. Seat is very comfortable. The marks or issues on being a "2nds" are as described; likely to get similar marks on the kayak when used for the first time. Boat is very stable. I didn't use the rudder yet but really like the ease of steering with the rudder in windy or rougher water. I have a Kevlar canoe so the weight is heavy compared to that, but that is to be expected with poly. Bought foam pads for car transport and am happy with the performance over having to buy a roof rack. Can only carry one kayak at a time though with the foam. If you want to keep dry will need a half skirt over the opening since it is hard to paddle without some water entering the kayak. Very pleased.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Paddling in the NorthwestReviewed by Alec from Anacortes, WA on Saturday, May 29, 2010Got the boat last week.[...] Was hard pressed to find ANY defects in the boat, since it was being sold as a 2nd. Went paddling on a small lake the next day and found that the boat handles very well and tracks straight as an arrow. [...]
