Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by gmp1 from Catskill Mts. Upstate NY on Wednesday, April 17, 2013The New Balance 1000 hiking boot is light, supportive, warm, very water resistant, and w a vibram sole the best material for winter snow n ice gripping (although, let's face it...ice is always pretty treacherous). I'm on my 2nd pair and have made them my 3 season boot....living in upstate NY in the Catskill Mts. they handle it all...
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Snoshoeguy from Little Falls, NY on Tuesday, January 17, 2012STP had it right when they said it ran 1/2 size small. This boot is great for light winter hiking. Doesn't have the support of a full boot but didn't expect it to. Not for extreme cold. Had them on in single and teen temps and my feet started to get cold. Would be good for 20's and 30's.
