3.0 out of 5 stars. More geriatric-looking than I thought they would beVerified Buyer Reviewed by forpeepssake from Georgia on Monday, June 23, 2014I've bought several pairs of NB through the years, and usually the photos on the STP site are pretty accurate. After I got these, I went back and looked again, and it was still hard to tell how clunky these were going to be. They are comfortable, and they are made in the USA, which were two reasons I buy New Balance, but these are not attractive shoes, at least on me. They are somewhat reminiscent of Skechers Shape-Ups without the actual rocker bottom. I will just have to scrutinize the photos more carefully next time around.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Not a durable design.Reviewed by edgewater1 from Virginia on Tuesday, October 29, 2013I ordered these shoes based on reviews here. The toe box and fit are good. I like the support. They are not heavy and were fine running. However, just as I had them broken in (about a week and a half), the lace hole broke. The two interior side middle holes for the laces are a thin, suede-like material with a fabric backing: the lace popped one open while I was tying my shoes and the other hole of similar construction looks ready to go as well. I don't know if this is a manufacturing flaw in the shoe I received or a design flaw- given the thinness of the material, I would suggest it is a design flaw. I don't think there is even enough material to stitch it back together, very disappointed with this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Fit!Reviewed by Mary from NYS on Wednesday, October 23, 2013My order was based on reviews by others. Glad they were accurate, as I really like the roomier toe box. Comfortable right away!

3.0 out of 5 stars. breathable fabricReviewed by Markey101 from Ohio on Tuesday, October 22, 2013The shoe fit well. I did not like the breathable mesh in the upper toe area. Felt if I wore them in water area or snow areas it would seep into my shoe. Otherwise it was a very comfortable fit and feel.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Fits fine, clunky stylingReviewed by jeepstergal from northern california on Thursday, October 17, 2013I didn't realize from the description that these were 'retro' styling as described with the product when the arrived. Therefore they are a bit clunky. Please, I was happy to get past the 80's!! Don't need to revisit that in my running shoes! Most running shoes today have cut-outs in the sole to make them lighter weight while still providing support, these are 'sneaker' style with a solid sole and feel a bit clunky. When you put on a new pair of running shoes you should feel like you can fly! These didn't offer me that feeling, not as much support as I was hoping for. They are just okay, so I will use them, but I wouldn't buy them again for running.
