Good for Interval WorkVerified Buyer Reviewed by Chemin de Fer from Baltimore, Marylnad on Saturday, September 8, 2018I've done a few interval workouts in these shoes, and I'm very satisfied with the purchase. They are lightweight and stable; the fit is excellent. (I ordered one-half size up from my street shoes.) I mostly run in Brooks, but I'm happy I gave these a try.
Fast, light, and cousionVerified Buyer Reviewed by Running, running, running from Minnesota on Tuesday, August 28, 2018I first picked up a pair of these at a marathon expo for $30. I decided that worst case, I would use them to mow the lawn. They are the best $30 running shoes ever! This is pair 5 or 6. I really like to keep them in my rotation and tend to use them for longer runs (12+). They give a good ride, but aren't bulky feeling.
ComfyVerified Buyer Reviewed by forkit from North Carolina on Monday, July 16, 2018Got them to run in...very comfy.
New version, same old good qualityVerified Buyer Reviewed by Yossarian from Maryland on Monday, July 9, 2018I had the earlier version of this running shoe. While the Fresh Foam models may not last as long as some other running shoes, the price more than makes up for it. The shoe provides great cushioning without compromising in terms of speed. It is correct that they run somewhat narrow (in comparison with the v2), but overall this is a great training shoe if you have just slightly below regular-wide feet. I didn't experience any issues with heel slippage. The sizing is consistent with NB sizing (which is the same as the one for Saucony and half-a-size-up from adidas).
Heel slipsVerified Buyer Reviewed by CO Fisher from Colorado on Friday, June 8, 2018Heel slipped. Had to return. Heel cup was too shallow.
Comfortable out of the boxVerified Buyer Reviewed by Danielle from NY on Sunday, April 22, 2018No break in and comfortable on first wear. Cushy but not a huge amount of lateral support, of course this isn't meant to be a trail Runner. There's a lot of conflicting information about the sizing on these sneakers a lot of people are saying that you need to order a half size or even a full size up because they're too small especially in the toe box. I found the sizing to be perfect however it's possible that people are upsizing because they want to swap out the insoles which are relatively thin in this case you would need to order a half size or full size up to fit in a more substantial insole, so keep that in mind if you plan on customizing this shoe.
Comfortable and look greatVerified Buyer Reviewed by MrBill from South Carolina on Tuesday, April 10, 2018Had not purchased New Balance shoes in several years and saw this style and decided to give them a try. They are very comfortable and I agree with the suggestion to order one-half size larger than normal. I'm normally a 12 in street shoes and bought a 12.5 in this shoe and the fit is great. Excellent support for such a lightweight shoe. I am 6'0" and 218 lb.
Cool running, shoes.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Steve from Oregon on Friday, March 30, 2018These shoes have been fun to wear and look really sharp. They seem maybe a bit narrow, but they have plenty of cushion. I reall likwas d the design which has New York City on the back and a trail through the Big Apple on the sole of the shoe. Neat shoe, good runner.
N for NarrowReviewed by okie from OK on Thursday, March 29, 2018Shoe was way too small for my feet. I normally wear 10.5 in most shoes. I ordered an 11 in these and the length was about right, but the shoe was way too narrow. Even with laces all the way loose it was squeezing my foot. Since the shoes are pretty minimal they might have loosened up, but I didn't chance it because the heel was also too low. Even with the laces tight, my heel had a lot of slip. I prefer my heel to feel locked in when running.
If you have low volume foot, i would still order 1/2 up to get proper length. Positives: The sole felt super grippy. Also i liked the reflective logo. I think it would really show up at night.
Nice, fast -- and smallReviewed by TCWriter from Norther California on Friday, October 6, 2017You need to size up at least 1/2 size -- the toe box is narrow. Wish I'd figured this out before I'd run two workouts in them. Otherwise, it's a super nice, fairly minimal shoe that some use as a trainer, but I like as a racing flat.

“Color says "Black" - is it actually the black/purple boston model?
Short answer: I don't know, I bought the blue one before they ran out.
However: generally STP has a pic of the actual product they are going to send to you. You can always call them and confirm. My guess is that you would get the Boston purple and black version.
