She doesn't consider them to be "high-wasted" and she was disappointed with the length. The product she received has a length of about 2.8 inches on the side (when she's not wearing them).
She thinks the pair in the picture has a length of about twice that number, maybe about 5 inches. She thinks the model might have pulled them up to temporarily stretch the length. She says they wouldn't remain stretched like that for very long.
She likes the comfort and the nylon/spandex material is good for most applications. She has noticed they make her sweat when she's outside in high 90's weather.
She decided not to send them back because of shipping costs (about equal to what we paid for them).
