These goggles are dangerous. On the very first day, yesterday in cold smoke 20" new powder, blizzard conditions, they fogged on the first chair ride up, between the lenses. This was the very first day of use, both my husband and I had purchased the exact same pair, and both of us had the identical problem. It is difficult to remedy a fogging inter lenses issue, we had to remove them from our face while on the chair ( in a blizzard, 18 degrees, that was fun) and point the vents into the wind. They cleared by the top of the lift, and then fogged immediately when put back on the face. This went on all day ( who is gonna leave those conditions To go home and get the old pair? You could see out of the bottom edge of the lense. These should be destroyed and not resold to anyone. Goggles are critical safety gear and persnickety performance cannot be tolerated. Shame on Oakley. Returning for full refund.

I was really excited to get these goggles after seeing some over-exuberant reviews about them. I heard a lot about the wide field of view and how unobstructed it would be.

My experience: ..meh. They're ski goggles. The field of view is the same as my old Smith goggles I got for $30. On the up-side, the outside lens is really thick and seems like usual Oakley quality that won't scratch easily. The inside lens is the normal flimsy plastic, though, and I get some glare and distortion off it (so much for the "high definition optics"). They look cool, I guess, so maybe that makes them worth the price, but I wouldn't consider paying full retail for the high-end ones. No way. Try some on at the ski shop and see for yourself before dropping the cash, my $0.02.

I haven't had the googles long enough to know a lot, however, the googles work great for night snowboarding. I thought the googles would come with at shaded lens so I could put either lens into the googles since they cost $99.00. But they did not. I have not been snowboarding on a sunny day yet to know whether the googles will be okay in the sunlight. If they don't work in the sunlight, I will be pretty disappointed. Worked great at night though.

About Oakley

Jim Jannard founded Oakley with a $300 budget and the belief that “everything in the world can and will be made better.” In the nearly 40 years since the company introduced a groundbreaking motorcycle handgrip, the brand has evolved into a cutting-edge optics designer bent on challenging conventional ideas and has reinvented the way we see sunglasses. Oakley sunglasses first grabbed the world’s attention with the release of Eyeshades® and the company hasn’t looked back. With the guiding principal that Oakley products are “inventions wrapped in art,” the brand has since expanded its offerings to include Oakley jackets and ski pants. Today, the brand continues to set a standard for excellence that is embraced by athletes all over the globe.
