These were purchased for my daughter who is 5'10" in height and weighs 145 pounds. A size 8 was purchased, which is the size normally purchased for jeans, but was too small for her through the seat and the inseam. Sierra Trading post was great in making a full refund in store for her. She purchased an Obermeyer 10L ski pant in Vail, CO that was a perfect fit for her. I can say the Obermeyer product she skied in IS waterproof and well insulated.
  • High Quality Ski Pants

I have not worn these skiing yet, so can only comment on the cosmetics. Firstly, Obermeyer has never let me done with quality. These pants are made very well and are true to size. I take 4/6 in jeans, and the size 6 fits perfectly with enough room for a base layer, and they look GOOD! I am 5’6, 120lbs. I hope they perform as good as they look.

I’m normally a size 4, but ordered the 6 because I wanted to be sure I had room for long johns. The 6 was tight around the thighs and rear. I could just barely get them buttoned and zipped. However, they are made from quality materials and are surprisingly lightweight, considering the fact they are also insulated. These are probably a great for someone with a slight figure. But, if you’re curvy like me, you may want to try something else.

About Obermeyer

When Klaus Obermeyer became one of Aspen’s first ski school instructors more than 60 years ago, he had no idea that his lifelong passion would eventually lead him to start an outdoor apparel company. Among Klaus’s first innovations was a down ski jacket he created at home using recycled goose down from an old comforter. Designed and tested on snow-covered slopes in the Colorado Rockies, Obermeyer ski jackets would soon gain a reputation for offering superior weather protection, warmth and style. Although Obermeyer ski pants and jackets have come a long way in the last half a century, the tradition of making top-notch outerwear for skiers and riders remains the foundation of this brand, which is still headquartered in Aspen to this day.
