I just spent the last 3 days snowboarding at Steamboat on black and blue runs full of powder wearing this coat and it was perfect, the coat came down to my hips and the powder skirt worked well. My measurements are 38-31-38 and I'm 5' 4" and got a size 10 and it fit nicely yet could still easily layer to fit the weather, on the coldest day I was able to wear 2 baselayers and a down vest and not feel restricted. The larger neck area with the extra zipper to expand it made it easier to fit the layers of helmet, face mask, neck gaiter, etc. It is true that if you want a form fitting jacket to show off your figure, this coat is not for you, as it is a bit boxy. I only gave it 4 stars because the first time I put it on, the elastic that cinches the hood around your face broke free from the jacket, but it still works just fine.

Very nice looking (I got the purple/white) and nice features. It is light and I need something heavier for really cold days so sent back. Too bad because it is a very nice jacket!

So many nice features to rave about - assymetrical zipper so it doesn't irritate the chin; adjustable faux fur trim - hood down helps keep your neck and chin warm as does the fleece neck/chin protector, hood up frames your face with warmth & blocks any glare from the sun (and the fur is soo soft and no little brown eyed animal had to die ;-) ; interior pocket is roomy for phone, gloves, etc; inside insulation is soft and comfortable, not bulky; interior hem for extra warmth; the google/sunglass cloth is a nice bonus; underarm unzips for when the weather is warmer; and so nice, the length hits just below the hips. I hate short coats as they don't keep your lower torso warm. This coat does. I bought the grey/black - stylish, dressy, and warm - can't ask for more. Stretch fleece cuffs keep your hands warm. I bought a size up and am glad I did. It doesn't run small, but I like to layer underneath & with a down vest, I'm warm and cozy. The only complaint I do have is the side pockets for your hands - they aren't deep or warm enough to protect from very cold weather. You'll definitely need gloves/mittens, which I have, so no big deal. Haven't worn it in the rain, but expect it will pass with flying colors. I highly recommend this coat - it's my first Obermeyer and I'm impressed with the comfort & quality.

This was great for my recent ski trip! It kept me very warm and I especially loved the adjustable hood with faux fur trim. Lots of great pockets to store everything! I love this coat!

About Obermeyer

When Klaus Obermeyer became one of Aspen’s first ski school instructors more than 60 years ago, he had no idea that his lifelong passion would eventually lead him to start an outdoor apparel company. Among Klaus’s first innovations was a down ski jacket he created at home using recycled goose down from an old comforter. Designed and tested on snow-covered slopes in the Colorado Rockies, Obermeyer ski jackets would soon gain a reputation for offering superior weather protection, warmth and style. Although Obermeyer ski pants and jackets have come a long way in the last half a century, the tradition of making top-notch outerwear for skiers and riders remains the foundation of this brand, which is still headquartered in Aspen to this day.
