sizing all wrong

I was looking for a nice pair of rain boots to wear when out and about for the next 6 raining months in the Pacific Northwest. I didn't need to be trendy and didn't want to spend too much. These boots are cute, comfortable, and the price was right. I have had several different Name Brand rain boots in the past. I have found they don't always have the best arch support and after a full day by feet really hurt. I had an old pair of Kamik boots (in the style with neoprene on the upper half) that I loved until I wore them out and they leaked. I also love that Kamik has a recycling program and are a family run company out of Canada.

I wear a size 9.5. I read the reviews and ordered up as I generally would with boots to size 10. I could get the boot on but with a pair of thin ankle socks they boots were tight and had pressure on several parts of my foot including the toe. I debated whether they would stretch out with use and decided they were just too tight. I returned them for a size 11 which came today. The 11 fits well. I could tell it was a tiny bit lose on my smaller foot but with winter weight socks it won't be a problem. I love the cushion in the foot bed and the look. They are well put together and not too flashy, but classic and fun with the pink soles. The upper part of the boot does not gape and would probably not fit if you had wider calves.

Overall the boot is 5 stars, I took one star away for the incorrect sizing (there is no way I would be considered an size 11 even when ordering up). If STP offered free return for exchanges I would have given it 5 stars. But you really can't beat a STP deal and the extra $2.95 was still less expensive than driving around to find something I liked.
