    It was fun watching this work cooking the cookie with steam, but the cookies were just okay.

    I bought a few of these meals for weekend backpacking and camping with my grandchild; less food prep = more play. Another time, I used one for an overnight stop en route to a week long event to save unpacking and repacking my cooking gear. I was amazed at how quickly the steam rose from the vents as the food warmed, using any water at hand and the water-activated hear packet included. The contents were indeed very hot, as the warning promised. This chicken & rice meal was tasty, and the beef stew very good - much better than dehydrated, though not as light or compact.

    Both the child and I gave the Omeals brownies & cookies a thumbs down, though. They were dry, crumbly, and way too sweet.

    I am buying more of the meals for my home earthquake kit - and for my desk at work, where I do not have a stove and fuel with my emergency supplies.

    the concept itself was cool of a self heating pouch and that worked but the cookies were not good at all. didn’t stay together and didn’t taste good and way too much waste to package a premade cookie that you are essentially just warming up
