strong, light for size with comfortably cushioned handle, it is much too large to take in a day pack for cat holes, as I originally had in mind. It works great in the garden.

Great for the extra oomph needed for this rocky clay where we live. Keeps hands from getting too wore out. Also the aluminum is plenty strong so I don't worry about the spade bending over and becoming useless after a few years of use and weather!
