They love wearing just the inside gloves when it's only moderately cold out, and having the outer gloves to add to it when it gets colder. The inner gloves look very nice on their own, and work very well with touchscreens. Even together these gloves aren't sufficient for a truly bitterly cold day, at least for our hands, but we are going to use them for everything else!
The only catch was the sizing on these gloves -- they run *very* small. Surprisingly, even the large was too small for us, and I had to reorder them in XL. I'm glad they had them! -

The Large gloves were way too small for my small 17 year old son, and the fingers were oddly shaped--some too long, most too short, and a few warped. Poor quality. I returned these immediately.

With the heavy fleece liner in place, they fit too tight for me (I ordered the correct size by hand measurement) so you might want to order a size up (hence 4 stars rather than 5). However, I have the perfect thiner liner which is warm enough and improves the fit. I cannot yet address how waterproof they are.
