Not a bulky vest which is what I was looking for. Its a great layer piece that is slim fitting vs the bigger down vests

    Lightweight, true-to-size, comfortable layering vest.

I already have a REI Revcloud vest which has 60g of Primaloft silver insulation and it was Ok but the smaller armholes are lined with additional material which is tight under my armpit and becomes irritating. Also the collar doesn't lay down very well. The Cathode vest on the other hand is very thin under the arms (so no irritation) and is full of 60g of Primaloft gold. Also it has a better designed collar that folds down nice and this vest feels even lighter than the revcloud. I would definitely recommend this as a layering option.

Bought this for a winter running layer and it serves its purpose. Medium/good but not top quality materials. The price was right.

About Outdoor Research

The concept for Outdoor Research was devised in 1981 when climber Ron Gregg’s planned ascent of Denali was cut short, ending prematurely with his frostbitten partner being airlifted off a glacier. The cause was a faulty pair of gaiters. During his descent, Gregg resolved himself to create better gear, a resolution that soon led him to build the first pair of award-winning Outdoor Research gaiters. The concept was simple: Make outdoor apparel and gear with a clear focus on reliability. In the many years since, this brand has continued to blaze new trails with cutting-edge products that now include Outdoor Research gloves, jackets, backpacks and Outdoor Research hats, all engineered to exceed expectations in the most demanding conditions on the planet.
