This jacket put a smile on my face as soon as i took it out of the box. I was nervous about the olive color online because it didn't look to great but, it is a nicer color in person. The jacket has four total pockets, one inside on right chest, on outside on left chest, and two hand warmer pockets. ... Read More

Runs a little small, but awesome jacket

I love OR products, and have bought beanies, gloves, glove liners and an outer shell from them, all with great satisfaction. This jacket was a big disappointment because the armpit and chest fit were quite tight. The OR outer shell I have is XL and does not have this problem. I thought about getting an XXL to solve the fit problem, but decided against it because I don't think going up a size would solve the armpit problem. A shame.

I ordered this for my 14 yr old son for a Christmas gift. The quality looks great and is what we were looking for!

This is an ATHLETIC fitting jacket that's way too tight in the chest area for me. OR's jackets in size large usually fit me pretty well, but this one is going back. I only had a thin, short sleeve shirt on, too. It is a mid to heavy weight soft shell as advertised. It has nice stretch as well. I have an athletic build, too.

I bought this jacket for spring skiing in Mammoth.
This is a good looking jacket with a good functional chest pocket and another pocket in the inside chest. The jacket is not lined so it is light weight, but good at being wind proof.
The fit is small, I am 6'1" 185lbs and generally wear a XL. This fits tight across the shoulders so I can only layer lightly underneath.

About Outdoor Research

The concept for Outdoor Research was devised in 1981 when climber Ron Gregg’s planned ascent of Denali was cut short, ending prematurely with his frostbitten partner being airlifted off a glacier. The cause was a faulty pair of gaiters. During his descent, Gregg resolved himself to create better gear, a resolution that soon led him to build the first pair of award-winning Outdoor Research gaiters. The concept was simple: Make outdoor apparel and gear with a clear focus on reliability. In the many years since, this brand has continued to blaze new trails with cutting-edge products that now include Outdoor Research gloves, jackets, backpacks and Outdoor Research hats, all engineered to exceed expectations in the most demanding conditions on the planet.
