Great fit (6'1" 190lbs and the large is perfect), not too sloppy, but enough room for a layer underneath if you need it. Great fit (6'1" 190lbs and the large is perfect), not too sloppy, but enough room for a layer underneath if you need it. You might be able to get away with a medium if you just want a tshirt underneath, FYI. Warmth is relative, but this thing is overkill unless it is below 30F and good down to single digits, lower with layering. It is more than enough for winter in SW Colorado. Love the weight to warmth ratio for shoulder season backpacking and ski touring. Double zip is great as a belay jacket as well. Cant beat it at the STP Price! Hope it holds up, the 10 denier fabric is definitely on the thin side, but Outdoor Research is a great company and their infinite warranty is one of the absolute best in the business.

About Outdoor Research

The concept for Outdoor Research was devised in 1981 when climber Ron Gregg’s planned ascent of Denali was cut short, ending prematurely with his frostbitten partner being airlifted off a glacier. The cause was a faulty pair of gaiters. During his descent, Gregg resolved himself to create better gear, a resolution that soon led him to build the first pair of award-winning Outdoor Research gaiters. The concept was simple: Make outdoor apparel and gear with a clear focus on reliability. In the many years since, this brand has continued to blaze new trails with cutting-edge products that now include Outdoor Research gloves, jackets, backpacks and Outdoor Research hats, all engineered to exceed expectations in the most demanding conditions on the planet.
