Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Debby from Colorado on Friday, October 7, 2016Both! I love this - no more packing both cap and beanie on hikes. This is a warm hat. Would have gotten 5 stars if I could also wear it without the earband down. It keeps sliding up my head when i tuck the earband in. Also, the visor could be made with a more robust "boning" as it gets rather crumpled up when in my backpack, i have to be careful not to squash it too much.

It would be better if the size could be adjusted.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Avid Reader from New Mexico on Friday, November 13, 2015Works well as both a regular cap AND as a cap with ear warmers. Nice design. Fits well.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by MMinMA from Massachusetts on Monday, November 9, 2015I like the idea of this hat - a cute brimmed cap with a light wool ear flap but... The hat is lined with nylon which, when added to crisp cold days, equals static hair (at least for me). The wool ear flap is on the inside when not in use so it makes the rest of the hat tighter/warmer when you don't really want it to be that. I suppose you could fold the flap up on the outside but it looks a bit goofy that way and the nylon lining problem is still there. Otherwise the materials seem good (especially having wool instead of fleece for the ear flap) and it is well made.
Unfortunately this one is going back.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from sf on Sunday, October 25, 2015Probably very good if you don't have a pumpkin head (7.5 hat size). At my hat size the large feels tight and the ear flaps don't fit inside comfortably if you are not using them.
