4.0 out of 5 stars. Like Biking Behind a WindshieldVerified Buyer Reviewed by spychic from alexandria on Monday, December 11, 2017Absolutely the pros outweigh the cons on the jacket - literally NO WIND penetrates and this eliminates any chill from sweating while winter biking to work. Love the adjustable cuffs, hood, and pit zips for heat management go all the way from underarm to sides. Impossible to get zip pulls with bike gloves on and the only real difference between this and a bike specific coat. That and the cut...I purchased the XL to get more length in back to cover the butt gap famous in women's bike gear. It's cut for someone with quite a bit more girth, considering I could have gotten away with a medium but wanted long enough sleeves and butt coverage on bike. Off bike, this size makes me look like (from the mouth of a parent at my school) "an undercover superhero." Ha ha! But it's got a nice finish &weave that if it were in the proper size, it could pass as a work proper jacket (in black). It shed snow nicely, but it will not prevent water from soaking in a heavy rain or even moderate shower. Best feature missing from many bike type jackets POCKETS!! There is - 1. a large side pockets 2. a large interior pocket 3. adequate chest pocket, which is the reason for purchase since I am in constant need to access this for lip balm, Ice Cubes chewing gum ect. Only thing I wish, that there was a fleece interior liner, but what I appreciate about it not having one, is that I can pick and choose my layering to match the weather -- for ex. in 25 - 35 degrees, this is paired with merino t-shirt, under zip merino top, under thin down sweater coat or vest....but in 35 - 45 degrees and it can be paired with merino t-shirt, down vest OR power stretch fleece to be perfectly toasty....dependent on how fast you push your heart rate pedaling. Great winter biking investment.
