This looks like made of quality material and looks good. I have not tried in cold weather so i can not say about performance. I am looking into an expedition Parker for Alpine Climbing so may be this is on thinner side but ordinary winter camping, hiking and ice climbing, I bet this jacket will be my Jacket of choice, PS :Extremely light and wight compactable which can be folded into a pillow too !

Jacket arrived and we were so excited! However on examining the jacket we noticed the right breast section was completely void of any goose down fill. It lay perfectly flat on my son's chest. It also doesn't compare to his Northface Jacket with the same 800 goose down fill. We would have kept it as a lighter coat just for the great color.. We have had great luck with most of our other purchases so it's just a little inconvenience to mail it back.

About Outdoor Research

The concept for Outdoor Research was devised in 1981 when climber Ron Gregg’s planned ascent of Denali was cut short, ending prematurely with his frostbitten partner being airlifted off a glacier. The cause was a faulty pair of gaiters. During his descent, Gregg resolved himself to create better gear, a resolution that soon led him to build the first pair of award-winning Outdoor Research gaiters. The concept was simple: Make outdoor apparel and gear with a clear focus on reliability. In the many years since, this brand has continued to blaze new trails with cutting-edge products that now include Outdoor Research gloves, jackets, backpacks and Outdoor Research hats, all engineered to exceed expectations in the most demanding conditions on the planet.
