Pilling Fabric?

Purchased this jacket for hiking and backpacking due to its light weight. Looks and fits well . Arrived with a "wrinkle" in the middle of the front zipper which you can see in the pictures but it is a 2nd. About 10 min in the dryer took care of it and works great in several storms it has weathered.
I have found two concerns with this jacket:
1. The collar covers the hood when you roll the hood down and tuck it away, but is not substantial enough to stand on it's own when the hood is out, and rolls up the back of my head. This is minor and can be over looked.
2. The outer fabric is pilling under the arms after only 6 uses. This is more concerning.
I use my rain jackets in the back country and cannot afford a failure with this new a piece. I expected more from an OR product, they have always been rock solid with everything else. This will be going back.
