Well made and designed. Unfortunately the design is for a flat deck. My sea kayak has a V front deck.

This deck back fits snugly onto my kayak. It is sturdy, has two very water tight storage areas, a net bag to keep stuff secure and a large open space for easily accessibility (great for snacks, sunblock and such) It stays remarkably dry in the inner compartment even though it doesn't seal in a way that is water tight. I rolled the kayak twice on a trip this week, and there were only a few drops of water inside.

Did a dry land test on the kayak deck. Bag seemed to attach well to the deck rigging and fit nicely over the rounded deck. The iPad case is a little weird, I could not figure out how to detach it. Most likely I will use it for maps as I can't see toting around more electronics in the backcountry. Not water tested yet so unsure how the closures will do but overall seems like bomber construction.

About Outdoor Research

The concept for Outdoor Research was devised in 1981 when climber Ron Gregg’s planned ascent of Denali was cut short, ending prematurely with his frostbitten partner being airlifted off a glacier. The cause was a faulty pair of gaiters. During his descent, Gregg resolved himself to create better gear, a resolution that soon led him to build the first pair of award-winning Outdoor Research gaiters. The concept was simple: Make outdoor apparel and gear with a clear focus on reliability. In the many years since, this brand has continued to blaze new trails with cutting-edge products that now include Outdoor Research gloves, jackets, backpacks and Outdoor Research hats, all engineered to exceed expectations in the most demanding conditions on the planet.
