Good in warm, dry climates

Because of the design, it is more effective to tie the line under the sole, but to do so is very difficult. I figured I would get some 1/4 inch bungee cord and make several sets so that, when one broke, I'd have a replacement when I needed it. But then I read an Outdoor Research report on Gaiters that included these. They really don't come up high enough for winter and they aren't waterproof. When they get wet, they sag. Realizing they wouldn't meet my needs, I opted for a different model by the same company, and returned these, despite the fee.
