  • Best Hiking Shoes I've Ever Owned

Best hiking shoes I've ever owned! Really good quality at a most reasonable price. True to size. I'm a 6 and a half and I still have enough room in these to wear thick socks. I was looking for snow boots originally and after buying 2 different pairs that both gave me the worst blisters, I decided to try waterproof hiking boots instead and these have been extremely comfortable. I didn't get any blisters and I felt like I had already broken them in on my first wearing. I wear them everywhere now because they are so comfortable!

I have recently started getting into backpacking and was looking for a lightweight, good entry level hiking boot to replace my heavy leather boots. I was attracted to the colors and price point of these boots so I gave them a chance. I had the opportunity to test them a couple of weekends ago and they did great! At some points I had to step into several inches of water from rain on flooded trails and the waterproofing held up. I got my usual size (9) and I think that if I wore a super heavy sock they may be snug but wearing lightweight wool socks they seemed to fit just fine. Excited to have more adventures in these!

I was happily surprised with the comfort and fit of these boots. I wore them all day the first time I put them on. I ordered half size larger than I wear in street shoes and they fit perfectly with my wool socks. I'm ready to go!

I'm very impressed with the quality. These have great cushioning and support around the ankles and the footbed is a dream.
  • Weird Sizing
Reviewed by Casual Hiker from Chicago on Saturday, October 21, 2017
I tried a couple Pacific Mountain Hiking Boots and I just can't seem to find the right size despite reading the other reviews. I ordered the Moraines in a 7 and 8 and these in a 7.5 and I still can't find the right fit. These 7.5 were larger than the Moraine 8, but then the Moraine 7 were too small. These seemed comfortable, but I had to return because I wasn't comfortable with the sizing. These seem well made and for the price you can't beat. Just keep in mind that you'll likely have to try a couple pairs unless you've purchased from Pacific Mountain before.
