I have a problem w/ "Baker's Cysts" in my knees and needed another pair of hikers because if the discomfort.
I tried on several of the "Bigger" name shoes, and knew what I wanted, but when I stumbled on these, I was sold!

Looks promisingVerified Buyer Reviewed by blusnood from NC Arkansas on Wednesday, August 22, 2018I can't call this a flexible shoe, more like a stiff low light hiker. The sole is also rather hard material but fine on uneven surfaces. It has a nice molded shape and I expect it to break in well especially since I replaced the insole with a gel sole. I'm a 145# light weight so a stiff shoe isn't required though it should be fine for doing my carpentry job and working around the homestead.
The shoe has the appearance of being well made, time will tell. The last two pair of shoes I've gotten from Sierra were Hi Tec and Itasca which I consider the low end. They did not last any longer than a discount store shoe which sells for about the same as Sierra's "deep discounts." My perception is that Pacific Trail is a notch above the low end.
It seems to me that the low end shoes on Sierra Traders are priced about what I once bought better quality shoes for from this source. True bargains are much harder to find on Sierra Traders since the buy out it seems. Hopefully the good old days aren't gone forever but I fear they are.

What do they use for glue?

Good shoe for work!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Stu the A/V and Lighting Tech from Virginia on Tuesday, May 15, 2018These shoes have been really good at work for the last two weeks. They fit almost a full size to big. I wear a 9.5 in most shoes and boots so I bought a 9.5 in these. They ended up fitting like a 10 or even a 10.5. Besides that they are a great shoe for working in all day! The price was great and ill buy again for sure!
Pacific trail Whittier hiking shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by old vet from catskills, ny on Wednesday, April 25, 2018Light and supportive. They are still a bit hard but not uncomfortable. These shoes are not the orange color as shown in the picture but more of a yellow.

Very good value!Verified Buyer Reviewed by dusty95 from Texas on Thursday, December 21, 2017I love the fact that my shoes are not only comfortable but they are also waterproof. Shoes are a little wide for me but for the winter are great and with my heavy wool socks are just right!
Really Good!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Stevie in MN from MN, USA on Thursday, December 21, 2017Bought these for my son, after the first day wearing them, he said, "These are really good!"
That's all I know, if he likes them, I do too!
They do seem well made, sturdy, not flimsy at all, comparable to high end brands and at a great price at STP.
Sizing seems accurate.
PoorVerified Buyer Reviewed by Russ the Hiker from Indfiana on Thursday, October 12, 2017I have been hiking/walking both on and off trail for at least 9 years, ALL WITHOUT BLISTERS OR OTHER FOOT DISCOMFORT. NEVER. In 2017 my wife and I have hiked/walked over 650 miles in the last 6 months. Because I have worn out my other hiking boots I decided to try the Pacific Trail hiking shoes. I developed a blister during the first 5 miles of walking our normal, level, asphalt walking path. This blister was so severe I had to remove the shoe and walk the last 2 miles BAREFOOT. I would NEVER order this brand again under any circumstance. In addition, they fit at least 1/2 to 1 full size too large, meaning that my normal 8 1/2 would require a 7 1/2, but again, I would never order them again. Forget any price they are selling for. If you value foot comfort, do not order these shoes!
