The main compartment has zippers that attach to a latch to prevent easy opening by pick pockets and the cabled shoulder strap prevents slicing of the strap. The bag apparently has a wire mesh lining also to prevent slashing with a knife and removal of contents. Two outside pockets have zippers that do not lock but you can fold the zipper pulls under a small loop/strap to make it more difficult to easily open.

Built like a tankReviewed by Monica from Portland on Monday, October 16, 2017So far so good--upon receipt was very impressed with how sturdy and tough the fabric is--seems semi water resistant as well and has an almost waxed canvas feel, yet is light. The hardware is also super sturdy metal; and the locking mechanism works as described. The front pockets' zippers also tuck in, adding an element of security. As for the size, it should accommodate plenty for a weekend, even for an over-packer. Should fit easily in an overhead compartment, probably takes up the same amount of space as a small 20" roll-aboard. I docked one star only because the handles are a thin material and I wish they were a bit thicker or padded.

I paid less then half of what Amazon is asking but rolled the dice anyway. The bag is awesome. As long as you do not pack like my wife you can easily make this a week long bag. Will comfortably fit into any plane overhead and is small enough to carry all day without throwing your back out. The fabric seems durable but only time will tell, I am very hard on my equipment so I will update if things go south. So far I can not come up with a con.
