So when I got these ski pants I tried them on and loved them. They seemed to be very waterproof and warm. Then I brought them to the mountain. I am a snowboarder so we sit down a lot to strap in. My but was very wet by the end of the day and the pant legs dont fit over snowboard boots or ski boots very well. Its a tight tight fit. If you aren't skiing and snowboarding then they are great skipants!

I was so excited about these snowpants. I ordered the blue color and it was a great neutral dark blue. The knees and scuff guards seemed like they would hold up well and the opening at the bottom wasn't a giant flare. I ordered the XL and I would say it fit about like a women's 10/12. I very sadly sent them back.

To replace my 15 year-old ski pants (par for the course when you're in a poor-paying profession), I settled on these after a few days of recon. Peak Performance certainly delivered on the quality aspect. The ski pants were well-made, with excellent stitching, thin-yet-warm insulation, and great aesthetics.

Only one problem: they are snug.

I'm sure this would be just fine if I wanted to show off my booty on the groomed slopes, but I'm a hardcore backcountry skier who expects to spend more than half my time climbing *UP* the slope. These look like they would chafe or restrict my range of motion when engaged in heavy activity. With some regret, I decided to send them back. (Seems like tightly-fitted clothing is a de facto requirement for women's athletic sizing, no?)

I would recommend these for someone who doesn't mind not being able to lift their knee up to their chest while wearing snow pants. I'm sure they are quite warm, and they do look snappy.

For the record: 5'8" –– 160 lbs –– athletic build.

About Peak Performance

The Peak Performance clothing brand was created in 1986 by four Swedish skiers with a shared vision. From the beginning, the goal behind all Peak Performance ski apparel has been to design quality, stylish, high-performance products that aren’t flashy or over the top. During a time when neon colors and ostentatious patterns were all the rage on ski slopes, Peak Performance was getting back to the roots of what made great ski apparel. As fashion trends shifted and technology advanced in the 1990s, Peak had already established itself as a premier European skiwear brand. In the years since, Peak Performance of Sweden has continued to push innovation and has even expanded into cycling, running and golf apparel.
