I'm a dyed in the wool Mountain Hardwear loyalist for their high quality and cutting edge innovation and this jacket is as impressive. I'm 5'/7" 135 lbs with 37.5" chest, so I ordered the small and it's a perfect fit with room for layers underneath. The fit and cut are similar to my MH down jackets.... Read More

My region has been experiencing below zero wind chills for a while, and I could care less. This coat is seriously warm! That wind chill means nothing to me because I'm toasty in my Peak Performance jacket. Nice pockets, nice inside pocket. A cinch at the bottom and cuffs are snug too. Flip up the hood and the wind and weather mean nothing to me. GREAT JACKET!

Nice features, has hood adjustments, XL was correctly sized (I am 210# 5 11"). Long enough to cover my waist, which is one of my biggest issues with winter jackets. Left it on a chair and sat on it a few times, put it through various activities (ATV and fat tire biking), and not loosing feathers like other reviewer.

I'm a dyed in the wool Mountain Hardwear loyalist for their high quality and cutting edge innovation and this jacket is as impressive. I'm 5'/7" 135 lbs with 37.5" chest, so I ordered the small and it's a perfect fit with room for layers underneath. The fit and cut are similar to my MH down jackets. The handwarmer pockets are fleece lined and the hood fits well. I don't see feathers leaking out everywhere, as another reviewer stated, but all down garments shed some occasionally. My advice to anyone unfamiliar with down that is so picayune as to be miffed about a few feathers probably needs to consider buying synthetic insulated clothing. IMHO it's a keeper at a steal of a deal.

  • “Can this jacket keep you warm with just a flannel shirt at around " 0" degree F, with no other layering”
Asked by Pilsner from CT on 1/7/2018 12:09:50 PM
    • Sorry there is not a temperature rating due to the number of factors that affect how warm it may keep you.

    • Who knows at what temperature you'd be comfortable in, but I can say this about it; It's overstuffed with 690 fill (not 500), my true size has room for base and heavy fleece or sweater that my true size MH down jackets don't afford, and I like the high neck and hood.

    • Quite frankly, I think that your gonads would tuck up tight with only this jacket on, but then again some people swim in holes made through frozen lakes.

    • Hey everybody, I'm Wild Tom. At least that's what everyone calls me, because I'm such a turkey. I'm just not down for feathers after all, so I'll go for Cole Frum Pee Ya and contribute to a greater carbon footprint for a heavier and not nearly as warm or packable synthetic filled coat made of even more fossil oil. Isn't it great to be so stupid in AmeriKa?

About Peak Performance

The Peak Performance clothing brand was created in 1986 by four Swedish skiers with a shared vision. From the beginning, the goal behind all Peak Performance ski apparel has been to design quality, stylish, high-performance products that aren’t flashy or over the top. During a time when neon colors and ostentatious patterns were all the rage on ski slopes, Peak Performance was getting back to the roots of what made great ski apparel. As fashion trends shifted and technology advanced in the 1990s, Peak had already established itself as a premier European skiwear brand. In the years since, Peak Performance of Sweden has continued to push innovation and has even expanded into cycling, running and golf apparel.
