I actually really like this jacket. Good quality for a $100. You get a true "down jacket" with Nylon shell (better than polyester).

It has 90% Duck down/10% duck feathers- not bad. (Obviously would have preferred 95% Goose down, but that ... Read More

  • Zipper pull on wrong side.

Zipper pull is on wrong side for male . I know it doesn't effect the performance of the jacket but I was always told a zipper pull on the right side of your body means mens clothing and zipper pull on the left side of your body meant female clothing. Maybe I was told wrong but at 60+ years old 98% of my front zip clothes the pull has always been on my right side. This is the reason I did not give it 5 stars. If I had known the zip pull was opposite than what I have been accustomed to my whole life I would not have purchased this jacket.

I actually really like this jacket. Good quality for a $100. You get a true "down jacket" with Nylon shell (better than polyester).

It has 90% Duck down/10% duck feathers- not bad. (Obviously would have preferred 95% Goose down, but that would run about $500).

Probably about a 550 fill. Making it a nice mid-weight (maybe lighter) down jacket for moderately cold days only. Would make for a good mid-layer (as it is not bulky) under a shell, or alone as outwear on above-freezing days without precipitation.

The hood covers pretty well, but a cinch buckle, or some other adjustment option, would have been appreciated. This is the one area that I feel exposed in. The hood is a little loose, with no way to snug it down (my only real complaint about this jacket- however, I may never need this function, as it is a lighter weight down jacket, and will probably not wear t for extreme weather)...but still.

I would have liked some cinch buckles on the waist, but the elastic is actually sufficient.

Zippers are European (backwards) but seems ok otherwise (they are YKK). Pockets are zippered, but not lined. There is a soft micro suede patch behind zipper, so it is soft and comfortable next to chin when closed. No zipper pulls, but I can add them myself (and probably will) to the main zipper, and maybe the pockets).

The sizing is 'true-to-size', so buy your size. However, it is slim fit (or slightly athletic fit). Will NOT fit American body types.

    Verdict: score!

About Peak Performance

The Peak Performance clothing brand was created in 1986 by four Swedish skiers with a shared vision. From the beginning, the goal behind all Peak Performance ski apparel has been to design quality, stylish, high-performance products that aren’t flashy or over the top. During a time when neon colors and ostentatious patterns were all the rage on ski slopes, Peak Performance was getting back to the roots of what made great ski apparel. As fashion trends shifted and technology advanced in the 1990s, Peak had already established itself as a premier European skiwear brand. In the years since, Peak Performance of Sweden has continued to push innovation and has even expanded into cycling, running and golf apparel.
