I too am 5'7" 140 pounds, and these shorts fit great! They are loose, but I think they're supposed to be! The lining is awesome, and if you wanted to, you could wear them with other shorts. I have worn them on longer bike rides, to the farmers market, and I ride to work daily and have enjoyed the... Read More

I SO wish they still had these in a larger size because I absolutely love them. I am usually a small and ordered these in small, but they were just too tight. I love that the liners are removable and could be worn under my regular running skorts too (to turn them into bike shorts!) If only they fit.

I wear a size large in the form-fitting-style Pearl Izumi bike shorts and ordered a large in this style. The outer shorts were too snug, however, so I traded up for an extra large. The outer shorts were now too large in the waist, so I had to add some extra Velcro to get them to accomodate the longer distance the tab closures had to reach. The shorts are comfortable and were well worth the excellent sale price.

I just bought a bike and wanted to get shorts that will cushion my butt bones yet not reveal all there is to see regarding said butt. I thought mountain bike shorts would fit the bill nicely. I am 5'8" and roughly 160 and the large fits a bit snugly but I guess then I don't have to worry about losing my shorts if the velcro comes unhooked (as mentioned by an earlier reviewer). They are not uncomfortable and do not look bad. Hopefully my butt will decrease in size with use. The venting in the legs is nice for airflow and my husband says it's sexy. What more can a girl ask for?

Both liner & shorts were on the small size. Otherwise, the quality seemed good.

About Pearl Izumi

Before Kinji Shimizu created the first Pearl Izumi cycling apparel, he spent nearly seven days a week on his bike delivering 90 pounds of clothes to customers. He frequently pedaled 38 miles a day. Years later, after his son received a special Italian-made cycling jersey, Kinji was inspired to start creating his own using the best fabrics he could find. The result soon evolved into the Pearl Izumi brand. In the five decades since, the company Kinji founded has continued working hard to make the best gear possible for dedicated athletes and weekend warriors. From incredibly lightweight Pearl Izumi shoes to sleek, comfortable Pearl Izumi running apparel, few other brands have the same relentless drive toward innovation as Pearl Izumi.
