Purchased these shorts because I'm not a guy who wears tight bike shorts. These shorts were better then I imagined. The inner lining is tight but fits well and is elastic. The outer shorts were loose but not overly baggy. I'm a 36 waist and the large fit well and is adjustable at the waist. Plus the... Read More

  • “Are these shorts padded? Is there an inner lining that is tighter on the legs?”
Asked by Bet Llavador from Colorado on 11/16/2016 12:09:09 PM
    • Yes, these shorts have a built in chami, that cannot be removed. The shorts do work well though.
Answered on 11/16/2016 4:43:39 PM by Coach Steve from Colorado
    • It's padded with 3D Tour Chamois. I use M size, and my thigh size is 23 inchs, I think it's just fit without extra pressure opposite to form-fitting shorts. Waist elastic tabs design is excellent for fine tune and change position when riding road bike.

    • These do not have tighter layer inside. According to information listed under the product overview tab: 3D Tour Chamois® attached to liner

  • “Do these shorts come with a removable liner with a chamois pad that snaps into the shorts?”
Asked by Pisgah Rider from North Carolina on 3/12/2016 5:26:58 PM
    • Liner is NOT removable. And it's only went into the back of the shorts, not the front. Not sure why they did this- design flaw. Makes them difficult to put on. Chamois pad is built into the liner. Shorts look great on- not too long or short. I recommend them.

    • The black does not have removable liners, the tan (ish) color does though. New vs. old styles.
Answered on 3/12/2016 6:38:38 PM by AT from MN
    • Yes. Mine did. I really like them. Very well made, comfortable, non-binding, quick-drying...blah blah. Buy them and enjoy the ride more. I did.
Answered on 3/12/2016 7:56:14 PM by Ray from santa cruz, california
    • No they are one piece, however they are very comfortable. I reccomend them.
Answered on 3/13/2016 10:42:39 AM by Christopher from Mid-Hudson Valley of NY
    • The liner is not removable. It is sewn into the back of the short with a 6" strip of cloth. Still allows the short and liner to move almost separately.

  • “Does it have pockets?”
Asked by Scott from WA on 7/2/2015 10:22:26 PM
    • That's the one negative... The shorts have one rear pocket and that's it.
Answered on 7/2/2015 10:43:49 PM by Philip from Fenix
    • So those things on the sides are just fake pockets then?
Answered on 7/2/2015 11:15:22 PM by Scott from WA
    • I does have one on the right side with a zipper, enough for a phone and a few bucks.
Answered on 7/2/2015 11:24:48 PM by Dan S from AZ
    • It has one only, on the right front. It has a zipper. Would like another but in spite of that, I like the shorts a lot. Comfy and they provide nice padding.
Answered on 7/3/2015 7:18:18 AM by Robbies6 from Minnesota
    • Yes, it has one zippered pocket on the right side.
Answered on 7/3/2015 8:23:17 AM by Noah from Colorado
    • Thanks for asking. Yes, it has one, secure (zippered) pocket that is fairly deep. It is large enough for your keys and a couple of bucks for a snack. It is not large enough for your wallet, keys, and an energy bar all at once. Frankly, I wish it had two because I like to carry more "stuff". But overall, these are well made, quick-dry shorts worth considering.

About Pearl Izumi

Before Kinji Shimizu created the first Pearl Izumi cycling apparel, he spent nearly seven days a week on his bike delivering 90 pounds of clothes to customers. He frequently pedaled 38 miles a day. Years later, after his son received a special Italian-made cycling jersey, Kinji was inspired to start creating his own using the best fabrics he could find. The result soon evolved into the Pearl Izumi brand. In the five decades since, the company Kinji founded has continued working hard to make the best gear possible for dedicated athletes and weekend warriors. From incredibly lightweight Pearl Izumi shoes to sleek, comfortable Pearl Izumi running apparel, few other brands have the same relentless drive toward innovation as Pearl Izumi.
