Most Helpful 5-Star Review
PI quality, fit is a bit strangeReviewed by Ehh from Canada on Wednesday, August 8, 2018Typically wear a Medium in PI, and the Medium of the new Canyon version fit well at REI. These previous generation definitely fit smaller though, with the liners actually longer than the outer shorts. Overall the new design is cut nicer and fits better. The new version has flatter and more secure closure system - this has 2 buttons plus velcro and sticks out and snags your shirt....not a fan of velcro enclosures as they always fail.
Pearl Izumi Canyon Mountain Bike ShortsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Nature Girl from Minnesota on Sunday, July 15, 2018These bike shorts are just what I needed. They are lightweight and comfortable. I like that the chamois pad can be detached from the shorts. I am 5'3" tall, weigh 136 lbs and ordered size L, which fit perfectly. I do wish the shorts had more pockets other than the tiny key pocket.
Good for multi-useVerified Buyer Reviewed by GFP from California on Tuesday, June 5, 2018I bought these shorts for traveling as I will be hiking and biking. The inside "chamois" layer is removable for easy washing and will allow me to use the shorts as regular shorts. Despite ordering a large (when I normally order bike shorts in medium), they are rather fitted on the top portion of the leg. I have only used them once for a ride so I can't offer more details - like whether they don't chaff or ride up.
Meh - A little smallVerified Buyer Reviewed by aligaterr from VA on Monday, April 23, 2018I'm new to biking shorts so my review is somewhat "uninformed". I wear a size 16 right now and these were a little small. Otherwise they seemed like solid bike shorts.
love themReviewed by Momarlie from Utah on Friday, April 13, 2018I usually wear a size 6 (I'm 5'4", 125 lbs, curvy built), but I don't like shorts pinching me, so I went with the Medium. I'm glad I did, as they fit perfectly. I've worn the shorts without the liner around town, and the liner under leggings when it was cooler. Super comfortable. The leg band is really wide and doesn't pinch or ride up. I actually like that it doesn't have silicone grippy stuff.
Great shorts!Reviewed by Christa from ID - Idaho on Tuesday, April 3, 2018First time buying mountain bike shorts and these are my go-to! First ordered a Medium just to be safe, and my second pair switched to a small -- they fit great, are long enough to stay modest, and definitely help for hours long rides. Totally recommend.
Love, love, loveReviewed by thehaymakerswife from Steamboat Springs, CO on Sunday, March 25, 2018These are cool; they are unique in styling AND they are light and almost silky, but with stretch! I typically wear a 4/6 in bottoms and ordered the SM. They fit great; not too loose, not too tight (I'd say the waist is a tiny big, but this will be very comfortable while bent over riding). The padded liner is detachable(!), it's a panty with padding so you could wear these shorts biking or (with other undies) wear them golfing or whatever. Again, the material is dressier than any bike short I've ever owned and that makes them VERY VERSATILE and a GREAT buy! I LOVE STP!!
